Recreational Fires and Grills
Recreational Fires:
There is no burning allowed within the city limits of Blue Springs or Grain Valley unless the fire qualifies as a recreational fire, fitting the following criteria:
- No bigger than 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height
- Cannot burn rubbish, trash, leaves, etc.
- The material burning must be material that would normally be burned in a fireplace
- Must be contained to a chimnea, portable fire place or man-made fire pit
- Must be at least 15 feet away from any structure or combustible material
Grills:
Grills cannot be used on balconies of multi-family residences. This includes motels and hotels unless the balconies have a sprinkler system
Grills must be placed on the ground floor, at least 15 feet away from the multi-family residence
Electric grills such as a George Foreman grill, are allowed, as are electric smokers
