Fire Station Tours
Central Jackson County Fire Protection District has five fire stations located throughout its district. We are always happy to give tours and show where we live for 24 hours. We will talk about the fire trucks, ambulance and other vehicle demonstrations that may be in the fire station.
If you would like to schedule a tour at one of our fire stations any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., please click HERE
Safety Awareness and Fire Education
The CJC Fire Prevention Division, in cooperation with the Blue Springs and Grain Valley School Districts, has instituted the Safety Awareness and Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) program. S.A.F.E. allows CJC Inspectors to meet with every 1st and 4th-grade class within our district twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Topics for the first grade includes Stop, Drop, and Roll and how to dial 911. For the 4th grade, lessons are designed for students to learn about the science of fire and fire behavior as well as exit drills.
We discuss smoke detectors, exit drills from homes, having a meeting place, fire safety with the misuse of candles, matches and lighters; and stop, drop, and roll. We also talk about what it is like to be a firefighter and show the kids some of the equipment we use.
If you would like us to come visit you on site please click HERE to schedule a visit. This is a great opportunity for daycares and schools to have the fire truck come. Kids can interact with the firefighters and get a close-up look inside of the fire truck and all the equipment we use.
